About Pink Spaghetti

Founded in 2009 in Cheshire with franchising becoming available as an option since 2012, Pink Spaghetti has over 50 franchisees across the UK. If you’d like to own your own business while benefitting from all the advantages of being part of a larger franchise network, take a look at the opportunity Pink Spaghetti offers you below.

What They Offer

Pink Spaghetti offers you the opportunity to run your own virtual Personal Assistant business. You’ll be able to enjoy flexibility without compromising on your career and personal goals. The business model is based on the premise that there are 5.7 million private businesses registered in the UK. A whopping 96% of them are classified as microbusinesses employing fewer than 10 people. The figures are growing every year and these are Pink Spaghetti’s key customers.

The Franchise Offering

The Pink Spaghetti offering can be described as a business-in-a-box, which means you will have everything you need to launch your business straight away and hit the ground running. This is a home-based business opportunity that you decide how to run so that you can have the best work/life balance while being profitable. The aim of the offering is to give you a new sense of confidence, achievement and fulfillment.

As a Pink Spaghetti franchisee, you will have your own large and exclusive territory, along with the rights to marketing opportunities within that zone. As a result, there is no competition between other franchisees. Instead, you will be able to support each other.

There are several steps in the application process. It all starts with you asking for a prospectus, which provides you with in-depth information about what it takes to become a successful Pink Spaghetti franchisee, how the process works, the expectations and their commitment to you. You can either complete the online form or phone or email – whichever option you prefer. However, bear in mind that Pink Spaghetti will need your postcode to check that there is a territory available near you.

Next, you will have a Discovery Call with the parent brand to enable them to find out more about you while you can also ask them any questions you may have. Then, you’ll need to complete the application form that you’ll be provided with.

After this, you will take part in an informal video call with founders, Vicky and Caroline. You will then be invited to the Cheshire head office for a meeting where you are welcome to bring a family member to help you make your decision. You will also have the opportunity to meet the entire support team.

Once it’s been established that you and the franchisor are a good fit for each other, you can reach out to some current franchisees to ask them what life is like.

If your application has been approved, you will be awarded a franchise and you will receive a formal offer. You can start your business thereafter.

Who Are They Looking For?

The Pink Spaghetti franchisees come from a wide range of professional, senior corporate and middle management backgrounds. They include qualified consultants, IT, marketing and legal professionals, public sector employees, as well as PAs and Virtual Assistants who wanted to set up and run a bigger business.

Pink Spaghetti is looking for people who have the drive to run and grow their own business, rather than just work as a PA.

The opportunity is ideal if you:

  • Would love to start your own business but find the idea daunting
  • Would like more flexibility in your career and personal life
  • Are willing to work hard within a supportive network

Some of the shared characteristics of Pink Spaghetti franchisees are that they are entrepreneurial, resilient, ambitious and with a strong growth mindset. They also have the drive and determination to run and grow their own business, rather than any particular qualifications or experience.

Therefore, to be a successful Pink Spaghetti franchisee, you’ll need to be:

  • A people person who is a good listener and skilled at building relationships
  • Someone who is eager to reap the benefits of the network but also willing to add value to it
  • A positive outlook, with a willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone
  • A hard worker with tenacity, a determination to succeed, and a ‘consider it done’ attitude, and
  • Self-motivated and resilient whilst showing both care and empathy.

The Cost

The Pink Spaghetti franchises cost from £7,995 + VAT. This is for an initial five-year term and can be renewed for a further five years by mutual agreement at no extra cost.  As it is a home-based business, set up costs are very low. You’ll be guided through the additional costs in the Franchising Prospectus. What also makes this opportunity so attractive is that established franchisees turnover between around £30,000 and £120,000 a year, depending on hours worked and the size of the team. Bear in mind that if you buy a franchise as a partnership, an extra fee of £750 will apply to cover training and associated costs for the extra person.

Funding

For funding, you can take advantage of the government-backed loan that is available for people to apply for.  This should cover both the initial franchise fee and some early costs. The loan is easy to access and once approved, is available within a week. Pink Spaghetti can provide further details of this and how to access it. But in addition to this, Pink Spaghetti franchisees have also been pre-approved by NatWest to apply for a business start-up loan. Other financial options are available and you are welcome to investigate and organise this yourself.

Training and Support

With Pink Spaghetti, you’ll get expert training, coaching, marketing support, and business mentoring, as well as benefit from the experience across the 50+ strong network.

Training involves a mix of online and face-to-face training. The first three to five weeks involve the Pink Academy: a mix of modules you work through yourself and a three-week series of webinars covering a wide variety of topics. These will contain exercises and assignments to help consolidate what you have learned.

At week six, you will attend the Cheshire office for two days for a face-to-face approach where you and the franchisor will be able to get to know each other.

There are also continued webinars available throughout the year on a variety of subjects and further training at the annual conference. Often, screen shares are done on specific subjects, if required by a franchisee.

You will also get training on the use of social media, MailChimp and other software packages.

Regarding marketing, you’ll get ongoing marketing support and regular marketing material (including text, videos, images and memes). Business social media, Google and Bing pages will be set up for you and you’ll have your own page on the Pink Spaghetti website.

As for continued support, the Central Support Team will help you with every aspect of your business – from planning through to staff recruitment. You’ll also have access to the franchisee network.
